Rules

Tech Challenge judges will evaluate your project on the following three items:

  1. device performance
  2. documented engineering/design process
  3. style and presentation

The judging criteria will help guide the judges. Be sure to read all the details of the judging process so you know what to expect that day. Device and operational guidelines are the only restrictions to your design. These guidelines help ensure safety and uniform judging of a wide variety of devices. Please refer to the test rig specifications to get a complete picture of what you will be using on event day.

Tips

  1. It is possible that, despite your greatest efforts, your device might not be working quite the way you envisioned on event day. REMEMBER: Device performance is only one of three areas that judges are evaluating. Come and present your device to the judges, regardless of how well it is working.
  2. Use common sense and good safety practices at all times.
  3. HAVE FUN!
