Welcome to the 21st Annual Tech Challenge.

Tech Challenge is the educational event of the year. Students working small teams use creativity, problem solving, team work and technology to solve real-world problems. And have FUN!

The Tech believes every young person in Silicon Valley should have an opportunity to explore hands-on design. Tech Challenge is our way of "inspiring the innovator in everyone". To-date, 11,000 youth from across Northern California have honed their creative problem-solving and teamwork skills as part of this annual program. Students' efforts are recognized and celebrated. Awards range from BEST OVERALL SOLUTION to MOST SPECTACULAR FAILURE.

Open, accessible, and affordable!
This team event is open to all students in grades 5-12. Invite your friends to join your team! Find one "cool" adult advisor to help you. The Tech Museum can help with volunteer advisors, suggested activities, information clinics, discounts and financial assistance - all the tools you need to participate!

Congratulations to this Year's 2008 Winners

The Challenge: Water Works

1 in 5 people on the planet don't have regular access to safe drinking water.

Create a device, powered by the river, to deliver water to the village's water tank. There is no electricity. Use the flow of the stream to generate power.

Check out this year's winners!
